LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

This course encompasses pharmacotherapy for major endocrine disorders including diabetes and thyroid disease and a review of therapeutics for topics where the mainstay of treatment includes the use hormonal drug therapies including menopause, contraception, and benign prostatic hyperplasia. To gain an understanding and appreciation for the pharmacotherapy, the course also includes an overview of the etiology, pathophysiology, and clinical presentation for each disease state. 

Pharmacologic treatment is emphasized and includes drug classes, agents used, mechanism of action, adverse effects, and patient counseling points. Upon completion of this course, the student should be proficient in the application of pharmacotherapy to the disease states and topics included in the course. 

The third area we will review is Contraception and Hormone Therapy.

Clip Content from an Access site

Clipping allows you to browse content on the MH Medical sites that your institution is subscribed and select (or "clip") it to be added to a learning module.

To begin clipping

, select the site(s) from the following and browse for the content that you want to clip:

How to clip content from a textbook

  • Step 1: Select the scissors icon from the toolbar.
  • Step 2: Move the pointer to the chapter title, section title, paragraph, figure title or table title that you want to clip.
  • Step 3: Clip once on the applicable content.

You will then be prompted to identify which learning module the content should be added.

How to clip other types of content

Other non-textbook types of content can be clipped such as multimedia, audio files, cases, learning tools, and lectures. To clip these types of content, select the "Clip" button that appears next to item that you want clipped.
