S. Scott Sutton, PharmD, is Professor and Chair in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Outcomes Sciences at the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. He received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of South Carolina and completed a clinical pharmacy residency in medicine and infectious diseases at the W.J.B. Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical. He teaches in Pharmacotherapy, Pharmacokinetics, Clinical Applications, Infectious Diseases Pharmacotherapy, and Clinical Research. Additionally, Dr. Sutton is a clinical researcher at the Dorn Research Institute, Veterans Affairs Medical Center. His research areas include pharmacoepidemiology and drug repurposing. He has received teacher and researcher of the year awards from the University of South Carolina and has served as sports medicine pharmacist for the Department of Athletics.
Dr. Sutton has taught pharmacy school for 22 years and pharmacy board review courses for 16 years. He is an educational consultant for WA Associates, LLC, for which he teaches a national NAPLEX® Review course. He has taught thousands of students in this review course and continues teaching the course every spring and available on-line at https://rxexamcoach.com/. Additionally, he has published several Naplex resources with McGraw Hill Education including the best-selling Naplex Review Guide.
