Part 2: During Laboratory Session D Activity

Please complete this part of the worksheet during Laboratory Session D. Work with your student group to talk about the scenario and answers but each student should record her or his answers in the tables below.

In this activity, your student group team will function as a group of management consultants to provide specific recommendations to a pharmacy team in conflict. You will work with your student group to complete this activity for one assigned case. Cases are at the very end of this document.

  • ODD-numbered student groups (#1, #3, #5, #7, #9, #11) will provide consulting services to the Community Pharmacy Team.

  • EVEN-numbered student groups (#2, #4, #6, #8, #10, #12) will provide consulting services to the Hospital Pharmacy Team.

Your management consultant group must first assess the conflict by filling out the charts below. Then you will write a management consult note to recommend how the pharmacy team can apply the S-TLC Conflict Management Model and finally your student group will write a narrative description of the differentiation and resolution phase of the conflict process for your pharmacy team. This exchange should be a specific, plausible mutually satisfying resolution to the assigned team case.
