Most CAs have at least three rings in their chemical structure. They include the traditional tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) imipramine, desipramine, amitriptyline, nortriptyline, doxepin, trimipramine, protriptyline, and ­clomipramine, as well as other cyclic compounds such as the tetracyclic, maprotiline and the dibenzoxapine amoxapine, antidepressants.
