He completed a B.S. in Pharmacy at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, an M.B.A. and J.D. at the University of Oklahoma and a Ph.D. in Pharmacy Administration at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. At the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Spies teaches professional students about pharmacy law/ethics, leadership, and management. His current research interests focus on professionalism, generational differences, psychological contract violations, and the role of exercise in pharmacy students' well-being.
